The Bunnings Trade Future Leader Awards for Women in Trades

Made in partnership with NAWIC, Bunnings Trade Future Leader Awards for Women in Trades is an initiative celebrating up-and-coming female leaders in the industry aimed at supporting women in trades to help foster an inclusive and diverse industry.

We know women face many barriers during the early stages of their trade career, and we want to provide meaningful support and resources to help them thrive and inspire other women to join the industry

Our Winners

We are excited to announce the three deserving recipients of the 2024 Bunnings Trade Future Leader Awards for Women in Trade who have shown a passionate contribution to their trade and who are making a positive impact to those working in the industry.

  • Cristy Watkins, a Scaffolder with Geeves Scaffolding in Otago
  • Courtney Willan, a Carpenter with Womenzshed & Edgecity Builders in Auckland

2024 Future Leaders

Ngakita Beazley-Ruwhiu

Ngakita Beazley-Ruwhiu is an invaluable asset to her trade and team. Having served six years with the New Zealand Army, she is a very specialised electrician. In addition to acting as a mentor for her team, Ngakita has also given her time and expertise back to her community, supporting local iwi and helping local marae with D.I.Y. projects in the past.
