Bunnings Trade Future Leader Awards for Women in Trades is an initiative celebrating up-and-coming female leaders in the industry providing them with resources and professional support to help them thrive and inspire other women to join the industry.

Bunnings Trade Future Leader Awards 2024 nominations are now closed. Winners announced May 2024.

About the award

Made in partnershipwith NAWIC, the Bunnings Trade Future Leader Awards for Women in Trades is aimed at supporting women in trades to help foster an inclusive and diverse industry.

As the third largest industry in New Zealand in terms of employees and contribution to GDP, construction has staggeringly few female participants: 11% of the construction industry is female in management, support and administration roles, only 3% of the industry is women in trades and on the tools.

We know women face many barriers during the early stages of their trade career, and we want to provide meaningful support to help them thrive.

Bunnings Trade is committed to supporting women in trades to help foster an inclusive and diverse industry. With a strong representation of female team members in the Bunnings Trade team, Bunnings Trade understands the benefit of encouraging a more diverse and gender balanced workforce in the construction industry.
